The Children’s Institute engages in child-centred research, advocacy and teaching. Our interdisciplinary approach enables us to investigate complex social issues and make a meaningful contribution to laws, policies and programmes as well as to the body of research evidence.
Our project work is informed by the major challenges facing children in South Africa and aims to contribute to policies, laws and interventions that promote equality and realise the rights of all children in South Africa. These concerns also infuse our teaching and child rights courses for health and social service professionals.
