2023 United Nations CRC Alternative Report of the Network of Child Health Advocates

Alternative Report in response to South Africa’s combined third to sixth periodic report to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

This report draws on the experience and expertise of academics and civil society organisations working in the fields of paediatrics, child health, poverty and nutrition in order to track recent progress towards the realisation of children’s rights; reflect on current and emerging challenges; highlight gaps and inconsistencies in the most recent State Report; and make recommendations to the UN Commitee on the Rights of the Child on how to strengthen systems in order to better realise children’s rights in South Africa.
